A type of Japanese craft which has incorporated contemporary trends with the traditional craftsmanship
1. ISEKATAGAMI OKOSHI
A craftsman cuts out a pattern with a special knife on strong Japanese paper.
This is a traditional handicraft which dyes the pattern on cloth with that paper.
2.MAKIE on the PEARLS KARAFURU
This is a handicraft that is drawn the Makie with gold powder to a big grain of freshwater pearl. Makie artists of Kyoto Lacquerware draw each one carefully.
3.Japanese lacquer craft MIYABICA
This is the birth of a new lacquer craft named “Lacquer Stone Jewelry”.
This is a technology that is called “Tsuishitsu” of traditional technology that an artist recoats the natural lacquer 200 or 300 times.
At first, they create pure board of 100% Japanese lacquer, and carve it, and cut it, and finish the form well.
Then they repeat polishing it, and continue expressing the lacquer layer of a beautiful hue.
