The Buddist temples-town of HIGASHIYAMA

It is said that Takayama is a little Kyoto.  The Miya River is similar to the Kamo River
of Kyoto, and Higashiyama-town has many temples and Shinto shrines like Kyoto-Higashiyama.
We call the heights to the east of Takayama “Soramachi” and also the heights which range from the south to the north are called “Higashiyama. There are eight temples and three Shinto shrines in this area. Every morning and evening we can hear the beautiful sounds of the bells from those temples. It is a good place for a walk.
Please take your time at Higashiyama.
